Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® Tunneling Dressing

Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® offers specialty dressings for Sinus Tracts and Tunnels, where the need to manage bioburden is always a priority.

Our Tunneling dressings are designed for easy one-piece removal from deep, tunneling, or shallow wounds.

Intended for Sinus Tracts and Tunnels, Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® Tunneling Dressings are ideal for deep, tunneling, or shallow wounds. The stable product construction allows for these dressings to be removed in one piece, without causing damage to the wound.

Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® antibacterial foam dressings are constructed with an open-celled PVA foam, effectively managing exudate to promote wound healing.

The porous structure uses a strong wicking action1 to draw bacteria and yeast from the wound bed, killing bacteria within the dressing and reducing bioburden. It supports gentle autolytic debridement3,5 by removing devitalized tissue and aiding in the promotion of healthy growth and safe, non-cytotoxic wound healing.4

Hydrate before use. Can be worn up to three days,1 or as clinical conditions allow.

Key Attributes of Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® Tunneling Dressings:

Specialized Tunnel Shape

An antibacterial wound dressing designed for tunneling applications. The powerful Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® dressing in the specialized tunnel shape allows for the same benefits of Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® dressings to be used within Sinus Tracts and Tunnels.

Powerful Wicking and High Absorbency

Continuous wicking and retention capabilities help draw bacteria-laden exudate into the foam and away from the wound surface with ease. The strong capillary action and a powerful, continuous wicking effect ensure rapid and efficient absorption of wound exudate.

Maintains Moisture-Rich Environment

Helps maintain a balanced, moisture-rich environment for the wound bed, promoting epithelization (the formation of new skin tissue over the wound).

Non-Cytotoxic

The dressing is non-cytotoxic, making it safe to use. It doesn't inhibit growth factors and provides protection against a broad spectrum of bacteria commonly found in wounds.

    Dressing Changes

Ensure dressing changes every 3 days or more frequently if required by the physician. If the dressing retained its blue color where it had been in contact with the wound, the new dressing can be left in place for up to 3 days. If the dressing turned white or lightened in color, continue daily dressing changes until the blue color is retained.

Note:

As with many wound care dressings, moisture balance is key. If the dressing is dry, thoroughly re-moisten with sterile saline or sterile water, then gently remove the dressing. The goal is to keep Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® dressings moist.

Hydrofera Blue CLASSIC® Tunneling Dressings can be left in place for up to 3 days, depending on the condition of the wound.
